ICE Electrical Solutions was engaged by Chris Bell Construction to take
on the electrical challenge of another Architect Ian Pritchard design.
The raw finish concrete block was the biggest challenge as there was
absolutely no room for error. Every flush box was carefully measured and
re-measured prior to marking the concrete with even a pencil. The
concrete block was to be flawless. After confirming the correct
positions the challenge of cutting out the blocks without cracking them
was nail biting. Other challenges involved
were allowing for cavities for the low level stair well lights to
be recessed in after the blocks were poured, installation of ducting
from bathroom extract fans out through the maze of timber and block work
and cutting in 5mt long recessed lighting without error.
All these tasks were
accomplished with great success. The job took a massive 500 man hours to
complete compared to a standard 3 bedroom house at an average of 200 man
hours. The company credits this projects incredible achievement to their
site foreman Russell Scott who not only completed the job on time but
completed it with a high level of finish, dotting every ‘i’ and crossing
every ‘t’ to the satisfaction of Chris Bell and his client.
